Our real farm farmhouse fixer

In 2014 my husband, family, and I decided to uproot from the city in the South to the rural mountains in the North-West. The bustling city life was left to pursuit a simpler organic lifestyle. This 22 acre log farmhouse was built in 1980, and hasn't been updated since. Wanting to make it our dream farmhouse, we have to stay within a budget because every room in the house needs something and with over 6000 square feet that is a lot of fixing to be done! So we created this blog so that you can join us on our journey to make this farmhouse into an updated Joanna Gaines style farmhouse on a budget.

We have continued room by room to update this old log home!  We started with the outside since our daughter wanted her wedding in the backyard and who wouldn't with that view!  We have moved to the indoors now but with this much square footage and acreage there will never be a shortage of projects!  You can also keep up with the progress on our instragam @farmhousefixer.

Our famly

My husband and I have four beautiful children and now three grandchildren!  Our family is our life, and we can't wait to make this a farmhouse complete with animals for our family and our future generations to enjoy.

Our family loves being outdoors, animals, and having an organic lifestyle. One of our daughters has a company, Pejula Arts, that makes  organic body products and beauty supplies. We can't wait to have her be able to get products for her company from our farm and property. We hope to have many animals, a large garden, and of course many outdoor activities for our family of all ages to enjoy.
